Republic Day sales: Good sets for MOCs
The Republic Day sales are ongoing and I saw a few sets that I think are prime sets if you want to get into MoC building. They range from about Rs 600 to Rs 15,000 meaning there should be good options for any budget here.

Ideas Hocus Pocus 21341
I'm really not into Hocus Pocus buut this set is really a gold mine for MoC building. It's been on sale for as low as 7500 but even at the current price of ~10,000 it's a good value. There's some great MoCs on Rebrickable, including the Medieval Alchemist that I've built myself (pictures coming).

Ideas Viking Village 21343
Great piece selecction for completely custom MoCs if you just want to part it out, but there's also some great instructions on Rebrickable. My favourite is the MoC that makes it into Meduseld from Lord of the Rings.
At 6850 for 2100 pieces it's an insane value for building and the parts selection is very useful for any wooden, medieval or other building style.

Not as great value as the previous ones, but a good selection of pieces and some nice rebrickable mods.

Icons Jazz Club 10312
Retiring modular buildings can be a great source for MoC building. They'll usually have colour palettes that are not quite as bright as Lego Friends sets and can be pretty good value parts wise. Often plenty of 1x4/1x6/1x8 bricks that are extremely useful if you're into building buildings.

Creator Animals Sets (31145, 31161, 31162, 31165, 31169, 31170)
The creator animal sets are pretty much all great for getting into MoC building. They're usually not as expensive as the other series and they have often many pieces in similar colours and utilise interesting building techniques. This means you'll get pieces you need to make great creations with studs going in all directions.
For many sets there are tonnes of MoCs published to Rebrickable.
